Diaphragm dysfunction: Monitoring and mitigation during mechanical ventilation
The presence of diaphragm weakness significantly increases the risk of difficult weaning, prolonged weaning and hospital mortality (Dres M, et al, Am J Respir Crit Care Med, 2017).
